What is Techno Worlds / The Pulse Of Techno and what role did I have in the project?
The Goethe-Institut's exhibition Techno Worlds took plate at Photobastei Zurich from January 11 to March 31, 2024. Techno Worlds explores techno in a global context and as a worldwide phenomenon that influences both music history and contemporary culture. The Goethe-Institut exhibition is complemented by an exhibition, a residency project and a supporting program at the Photobastei. The Goethe-Institut exhibition will be complemented by an exhibition, a residency project and a supporting program at the Photobastei. With a focus on Zurich, the exhibition The Pulse of Techno conveys how club culture creates spaces in which new ideas and spaces for celebration can develop and be confirmed. The Pulse of Techno-Residencies captures the power and excitement of the thriving music scene and involves local and international clubs, collectives and individuals. In short: Photobastei brought Techno into the museum and turned the museum into a walk-in club space.
For more than 1.5 years I worked as a project manager and curator for the cultural institution Photobastei for the program around the exhibition The Pulse Of Techno. This resulted in important collaborations with relevant players from the scene - for example with the SMEM (swiss museum for electronic music instruments).
